When The Meg tries for real human moments it's so-so but whenever sharks are on, or it embraces the humorous aspects of the story, it's a lot of fun. The 3D effects are quite good so that's the way to see it. Statham proves again he can manage both action and humor and Li Bingbing also displays charm. Enjoyed Rainn Wilson and Ruby Rose too. Ultimately it delivers the goods. It's fun above all.

Although the meh has you on the edge of your seat, there are many plot holes and questions unanswered in regards to character development

Fun,scary at few points and cute characters

Wanted to give it a 3.5, didn't have the option. It was a entertaining popcorn movie, check your brain at the door and don't take the movie seriously. It was a slow brew to the 2nd / 3rd act, however it did have a few surprises. Was a fun ride, wish there were a bit more jump in your seats scenes, it was a GIANT SHARK movie! Wish it was more than just PG, it may have bought more to the movie.
