I have always loved to watch end of the world type of movies. To see the way people act when faced with adverse non controllable obstacles as well the evil and goodness in the fellow man has always been captivating to watch on screen. This movie definitely had me on the edge of my seat (well bed since it was a at home screening lol). There was definitely suspenseful moments throughout the whole film that kept me wanting to see how this would all turn out. From the main character (gerard butler) having to kill a man to a mother having to watch a child taken away from her all because of the evil within desperate people. Makes you think that facing a comet is a ballpark than having to deal with people it seems. Would definitely like to see a part two, I am interested to see the survival of people after such a horrific event, sometimes movies like these tend to be better as a series since incorporating as much detail as possible always keeps the audience that much ore intrigued it seems. I only gave it four stars instead of five because Butler needs to step up his emotional acting game. More like Andrew Lincoln (walking dead) with the way he evokes such deep emotion when feeling pain, relief etc. one of the few actors in which you can actually feel it through the screen. Once that is achieved 5 stars for sure!

I actually liked the film. It went in a few directions I wasnt expecting and hit some of those emotional beats pretty well.

A few plot holes, like how did they have enough insulin for the son in the bunker and 9 months wouldn't have been enough time, but overall a very solid movie. Would have loved to see some of the life in the bunkers or some of the major damage as it was happening.

Holy Cow! Better than 2012 or Deep Impact! I feel this was almost a procedural on how governments would pick and retain people to survive. It was non stop anxiety and it never got boring or even seemed far fetched! Gerard Butler is quickly becoming one of my favorite disaster actors....GEOSTOOOOORMMM!!!
