Overall good movie. Predictable for an end of the world movie but still enjoyable.

This action flick has heart behind it. Gerard Butler plays an excellent lead as the father and husband trying to get his family to safety. Torn apart by varying circumstances, all this family wants to do it get back to each other and hopefully get their son to a safe haven in the hopes of surviving this end-of-the-world event. The movie showed the lengths, both good and bad, people will go to survive. To me, it is those many "side stories" that help give this movie the heart that make a good action flick become a really good movie.

lots of energy and action good special effects

The story moves pretty quickly as does the action. There wasn't any lull in the story even with it being the standard end of the world storyline. Acting was great as were the special effects.
