No likeable characters, nothing really special about the story.

The lead is oddly miscast. He seems really old and looks Japanese. Threw the whole thing off for me.\rSeemed odd in this day and age to not be able to find someone young and Chinese.\rRest of cast good and a lot of fresh dialogue. But didn’t want to watch it in the end. It was a big misstep to think no one notice the difference between Asian folks! Yikes! And I’m even Caucasian. Sorry!

Feels disjointed and edited poorly. Basketball scenes are laughable and story lacked cohesion.

I think the technical aspects were good but, where it faltered was the acting and writing. Most of the characters especially Boogie were very unlikable and poorly written. The blatant exposition did not blend well. The film also felt very rushed. I had no idea the final game was the actual final game of the movie it was very anti-climatic, shot strangely, and definitely did not leave me satisfied. I appreciated that Boogie had to go to China in the end. It helped separate this story from other sports movies where the athlete wins everything in the end. Boogie was an okay watch. 2.5/5
