Very slow with hard to understand dialogue. Filming style felt amateur and forced. This film did not hold my interest like other Focus Features have.

Amateurish. Bad acting and even worse dialogue. I’m actually surprised this is something Focus distributed.

Seemed like a made for TV movie. Not very good. Didn't like ending. Acting was mediocre.

As a Chinese, I have to say it contains so many stereotypes, and misinterpreter Chinese culture. It feels like that the director got a group of Asian actors here, but served a movie just like American-Chinese food: beef and broccoli.\rIt is a traditional come-to-age movie to me.
