Story already told and felt very dated. I couldn't believe this movie was approved. So many bad stereotypes, and this is 2021? I wonder when the movie was actually made. I'm disappointed

The story wasn’t fresh. It reminded me of so many lower-income-but-talented teen athlete trying to escape his life in life through sports—but with an Asian lead. \r\rI understand why teens are played by older actors in R-rated films. But the leads were not at all believable as high schoolers, and it was distracting. Why cast 30-year-old Taylour Paige when there are so many talented black actresses in their early 20s? \r\rThe dialogue was stilted and the characters development was weak. I had trouble caring what happened to Boogie and his family because they were all so unlikeably written. \r\r

Pace was a little too slow

It was difficult to watch. Very slow going. Seemed very amateurish. Might be good for a market like New York
