The movie has so much potential. It could have been a great coming of age story with a unique twist offering insight and shine for the Chinese culture, but it's held back by terrible writing, unlikeable characters and an indecision on whether to be a intense drama movie or a teen urban love story for tv.

A TV movie at best.

Very dissapointing direction and extremely eeak writing throughout the film. Mpst of the leads were well performed but they didnt have good material to work with. Editong and sound were poorly cut and the direction was all over the place. Well intentioned but executed poorly!

A fairly typical "hero" story. Happy to see a story about an Asian-American that breaks the mold of the model minority. But too many things in this movie were played out (winning the big game, everyone's happy in the end) and it left room for more story telling. Plus, it was impossible to believe these 30-something actors were in high school.
