A creative departure from what one would usually expect from Disney films with use of a created prehistoric languange in ice age Europe. Several delightful scenes as the young man coming-of-age meets and gets to know a wolf to become a loyal companion.Several somewhat graphic (or implied) survival scenes makes it less appropriate for younger kids. The snow and ice scenes stretched out too long where the relationship between the young man and wolf were less focused. How many days elapsed?

Good film, sound/music could been little more dramatic.

I was well acted, beautiful setting, subtitles made you feel like you were really 20,000 years ago. Here was the problem: he was a teenager, obviously, yet he couldn't make fire? Living like he did he certainly should have had far more survival skills than portrayed. The action and drama were plenty without making it seem like he lived his entire life inside a hut. Killing a boar? Come on. By his age he should have been a pro at killing and skinning small animals.
