Cute, coming-of-age movie featuring outer space. Asa Butterfield delivered a strong performance but Britt Robertson, his love interest, wasn't as convincing. It was also quite apparent that she wasn't the 15 year old character "Tulsa" (Robertson is 26). The overall story was a bit predictable. I wish the movie focused more on "what's your favorite thing about Earth" and highlighted the quotidian - that is, the beauty of everyday occurrences. We got a glimpse of this briefly but the film didn't really push it there. Nice teenage flick.

I could not wrap my brain around the subtly of the family dynamic, that was going on in the end of this movie. I felt like they were trying to recapture the success of the Matt Damon, "Martian", from last year.

The movie is interesting albeit its shortcomings and n the character development department.
