I wavered between 3 and 4 stars.I am this movie's target audience, unlike the many people who left mid-screening or the lady who left near the end and who was shrieking that this movie was made by a sicko over and over again.I opted for 3 stars because it felt derivative Kubricky and because the shocks during the third act and coda didn't feel well-deserved. I've watched a lot, and I mean a lot, of potentially offensive/shocking stuff, and the third act felt like a cheap shot -- it wasn't even that shocking to me, just felt thrown in to be sensationalistic. The first two acts, minus Keanu's wooden performance, were master classes in developing mystery and atmosphere -- (I love Keanu! His poor turn appearance just felt sad.) The visions we get into Jessie's head are brilliant, and even though character development and even dialogue at times seems weak, the visuals and story line are so compelling I wanted to sit through even some of the longer stretches just to see what happened...Then the third act. Yes, the audience was a mixed bag [some laughed uneasily or started making loud, inappropriate comments during the necrophilia scene and others which might have distracted from the mood/ambiance shift], but I felt like my grip on the movie's turn was not biased. Either more setup was needed during the first and second acts, or the third act needed to be more naturally and organically emergent from them. Also, I'm not sure what the LGBT community will make of the primary lesbian character here being portrayed as a rapist necrophiliac. Was the designer dude a knock on Tom Ford? If so, brilliant!Would have been solidly a four star movie or even five if the ending had felt more mature rather than a director stringing an audience along for a long time, then springing cheap shot Fangoria-style gore on them. It was disappointing. And I like Fangoria-style gore and shocking acts in movies! Thanks!

Stunning visual effects; plot seemed kind of lost on me!

The movie had no point. To me this movie didn't make any sense at the end and had long pauses for no reason. On the other hand I love the outfits and the colors!
