Joaquin phoenx gives an amazing performance. The style of the movie is fantastic. but the overall vibe of the movie was pretty confusing and boring at times

What I learned from this movie was that you can have amazing characters, really fun style and a great soundtrack and still not have a great movie. Lots of great moments too. The trouble was that the movie had too much going on. It was as if you took all your favorite colours mixed them together and got brown. Every character in it was great (with the exception of Shasta) but the story was not.

I found the scenes disjointed but that's probably what it was going for. Also, many scenes had the actors mumbling inaudibly. Good soundtrack. Funny moments. Cool decor.

While this film was very funny with lots of 60's hippie sex drugs and rock snd roll California dreamin humor, it was VERY long. Could not sit for 2hrs and 20 minutes. Left early. Would have liked to have found out what happened to Shasta.. It was zaney funny. Audience laughed a lot.
