The movie seemed very similar to other movies I have seen about young men playing basketball in the inner city. The plot seemed to lack originality.\r\rWhat I did appreciate what the incorporation of what I presume, because I'm ignorant, are elements of the Chinese and Chinese-American experience. Boogie, at the very least, made it clear how difficult it can be to navigate our current societ with pressures that come family, ancestors, culture, and tradition. If these things had been packaged in a better storytelling vehicle, I would've liked the movie better.

It was a well-done movie and enjoyed it. A new fan of Taylor Takahashi starring as Boogie in this basketball drama and it was fitting having Pop Smoke's music in it as well as him starring in it as well. The supporting cast was great and was a relatable story with migration to North America for a better life and the struggles that families can go through.

Given the fact that I could only watch half the movie because of the 'no pausing' rule you have I guess I can't give a quality opinion. Also, I would have liked to received the email stating I could've started the movie later a lot sooner. Like maybe prior to the movie starting, in which case I would have done so and been able to watch the entire film.\r\rAs for what I did see, the acting was good, the storyline plausible, if a bit slow. It had lots of atmosphere and I liked the cinematography and music.

It was for a much younger audience than myself. Loved the story line though
