Great Depiction of real life responses to life and survival. Wonderful heart felt moments of what family means and the will to survive

Kept me on the edge of my seat! What made it more terrifying is that it is something that can actually happen!!

Being the first new film seen in months, we were happy just to be there. While this doomsday movie was filled with very predictable situations, it was action-packed and happy (as could be expected) ending. Don't know if the screenplay allowed characters to be fully developed. Found issues with mother allowing child to be kidnapped while in the car with them. Why wouldn't a mother instruct her kids to take of their seatbelt and run like heck? Felt like the husband and wife differences were set aside. Were the flashback scenes to make you think they were going to die (like the son had been told)? And lastly, I thought I detected a blooper....as husband backed vehicle on shoulder of interstate, appeared to take the passenger side mirror off when striking a road sign. Scene immediately after, showed passenger side mirror intact as they left interstate and onto off ramp. All in all, a good doomsday flick. Kinda surreal...watching during such trying times. Almost like we wouldn't be surprised if this became a reality.
