It was okay, but the story was a bit convoluted. It was not very clear what was going on. The character development was good, but nobody had a great finish to their arc. It felt like there were opportunities for heroic deaths or great moments, but they fell very short. The musical score was great. The music has me emotional and ready for big moments that did not deliver.

The movie suffers from pacing issues, and the characters aren't engaging. The visuals are nice, but the flashy displays don't get me invested in a story at all. I forgot major plot points by the time I made it back to my car.

It tries way too hard to set up the other incoming 3 films that it doesn't tell anything worthwhile on it's own. Feels like Rowling is meddling with her franchise and retconning too much, as this gets away from the great main cast and creatures of the first one. Should've just started this as a Dumbledore/Grindelwald series instead of a Fantastic Beasts series that has warped into their movie
