While there were a few plot holes with the believability of some of the science, overall, this was a very enjoyable movie. The love story subplot for the lead character was adorable, and there was a nice (although slightly obvious) twist near the end. I really thought it was extremely heartwarming and I love watching him interact with new people, learn, and attempt to adapt to a different world, all while sharing his love and innocence.

Nice story of romance between a long distance. I liked the Mara and earth aspects. The story had flaws that I'm not sure could have happened or believable, but I understand to speed the development of the story. I did enjoy the romance between the two and their journey. The ending was nice with him finding out who is father was and them returning home together. I believe more girls will watch this but some techie guys will too.

Garner did his job flawlessly along with others. Excellent choice for the Martian boy.But everybody else in the cast is somehow not fitting in. I could not accept the father role...he did not shine well..should have kept some young face and showed some transformation.Tulsa is absolute mismatch, looking too old for garner. Onscreen chemistry did not work out.Robot- could have made little pleasing....was rusty...I like the movie overall. Especially the screenplays explaining why garner could not make it in earth....and rescuing him by taking to outserspace....Thumps up.....

Great movie. I loved that it was partly science fiction, love story, suspense, and drama all wrapped up into a great storyline.
