Performances were very strong and cast was trying their best. Plot was too unbelievable and flat. It felt manipulative to have each woman beaten either as child or adult and to use that to explain their violent response. We loved the idea fir this plot, but script didn’t do it justice. During credits we realized this was adapted from graphic novel which explained the simple plot and sets.

The plot is not what I expected. Giving women overrated power to the extent of losing family values is not my forte!

Did not seem to be the right part for McCarthy.
