This was an amazing film that provides a visual narrative of the reality of so many individuals in our communities. Not only does it highlight the systematic rape culture that has been around for decades, it also demonstrates the various responses to situations like those displayed in the movie, especially when comparing it between someone we don't know and someone we do.

"Promising Young Woman" made me feel like Cassie's nervous finger-tapping before she meets with the Dean, each finger a different a different color: innocent, bold, nervous, righteous, and terribly sad. I felt both humbled and spurred by Cassie's anger, which Mulligan played with such nuance against the joy and friendship she shared with her coworker and boyfriend (played by Cox and Burnham, respectively). In the end, I hope this film makes other viewers' fingers start tapping along with Cassie's as we perform the difficult yet calculated tasks of recognition, solace, and accountability.

Very thought provoking. It is a good follow-up movie to my university's sexual assault prevention course.
