"Blackening" put me in mind of the seventies "Blaxploitation" movies. The movie started at 7:00 p.m. I was back in my car by 7:37 p.m. This is an vulgarity filled attempt at humor and horror. I honestly can't tell you if it ever achieved anything other than vulgarity. Go if you must, but please leave the children at home.

In my opinion, I could have lived without ever seeing this movie. Although, I loved the fact that there was a majority black cast, the movie lacked in content. It was not really funny at all. It appeared as though the actors were trying to hard to be funny. Some of the jokes hit but many failed to receive the laugher intended. The plot was also lacking. I would not recommend this movie to anyone.
