A powerful film, the subject matter really hit a cord. A story with heart! Fantastic cast, great cinematography.

Wait out the first 12 minutes, the film starts a little slow but it's well worth the journey. An intriguing peek behind ableism. The cover of the movie is misleading, though... makes it look like a documentary about heavy metal. It's anything but. Oscar-worthy sound engineering, and exceptional use of sound throughout the film. Would absolutely recommend!

I wear two cochlear implants so I don't hear the same sound as a hearing person. So the music was lost on me. I appreciated the times when he was deaf and after the implants that what we heard was what he heard. I thought the characterization and acting were excellent. So were the videography and scene pacing. I enjoyed the movie. There were unexplained gaps in the story. How did he go from asking to borrow money after the surgery to having enough for weeks in a motel and a flight to Paris?
