This was my first experience attending a virtual advanced screening, and Sound of Metal was the perfect movie for that. I’d highly recommend watching with a pair of headphones, as the sound design here is insane. It really puts you in the shoes of Ruben, played by Riz Ahmed, who is a rock performer and former drug addict experiencing hearing loss. Ahmed delivers an Oscar-worthy performance, so I’ll be shocked if we don’t see him getting any nods during the upcoming awards season. ‘Twas very good!

Good film - good story and acting.

Solid story of redemption. Riz Ahmed is affecting and real. Also, very easy on the eyes.

Quite moving. A view into the reality of the world of the deaf without being maudlin .
