It took to long yo understand what was happening any why.

I'm Your Woman sees a single mother on the run. The crime drama takes a while to get to what will ensue, feeling quite slow at times, watching her partake in mundane routines and take care of an infant. The suspense builds due to the drawn out pacing, causing the jolts of startling moments to be that much more tense and effective. Although it is quite dialogue driven, the mystery does pick up and unfold in the last act, but the movie could benefit from a shorter runtime

I was put off by all of the violence and the improbability of the story

Too much violence. My biggest negative was the sound levels. At the beginning I couldn't understand the dialog as the voices were so soft. Turned it higher and heard some of the dialog. Then it was too loud. This pattern was throughout the movie - sometimes too soft to hear, other times needed ear plugs.
