LOVED the original, and I love this remake as well. Very talented cast, stunning visuals, gritty atmosphere, small updates to the script that had a modern vibe while still adhering to the 1950s setting. And to see it while still in mourning for Stephen Sondheim was very meaningful. Thanks for the screening!

The original Westside Story has always been my favorite Broadway Musical, as was the original movie - so I was skeptical with a remake . Boy, was I happily surprised!!! This movie was a dance and song masterpiece… updated, yet holds true to the original. Maria was perfection and just brilliant casting with Rita Moreno.\rI loved that the movie theatre erupted in applause after each big number!

I’ve heard about this movie for many years and was never really interested in watching it. Last night I decided to watch it and I sure am glad I did. The singing and dancing were amazing, but the story line was raw. How sad it is that people can take things just a little bit too far and then it is all over. No turning back! Great movie a must see!
