It was a decent adaptation. Loved the new songs, especially Jasmine’s song about being speechless was a perfect way to modernize the story for 2019. But also shows just how much the world has changed since even 1992, in that film it was still the sultan who changed the law so Jasmine could marry who ever she felt worthy, in the 2019 version she becomes sultan and can change the law herself.

I was surprised that I enjoyed it as much as I did. Casting was great and delivered a fun movie experience.

It had some really good moments. Needed more scenes with genie. It was a long time until genie was introduced, the beginning dragged too long.
