It's your typical political thriller with former military and such. Silly but entertaining. Gerard Butler (or was it Russell Crowe?) is not exactly a spring chicken so it was an odd choice to have his character have a baby.

I thought the merc angle was new. And, I thought the action scenes were pretty original. I think it's probably the best movie in the series.
