I felt that the movie was quite effective and touching, as well as oh, so important, politically and morally. The actor who played the detainee at Guantanamo was wonderful, able to put across many shades of emotion and character. Jodie Foster was excellent; it was wonderful to see her back on screen, tackling a worthy role well. Benedict Cumberbatch was quite good, as well, and Shailene Woodley is always a plus. Small roles were well-acted, too. So, altogether well-cast. The ending was devastating, in that after winning his case and seemingly his freedom, he was detained for 7 more years by the Obama administration. So tragic, so heartbreaking, but imperative to communicate the broad governmental complicity and guilt in all of this. And then the footage of the real person on whom this was based, what a sweet and wonderful man. I won't forget this film and may need to read his book.

One of the best movies I have seen in a while, was able to show different character perspectives in a unique way. Highly recommend
