A lot of plot holes, nonsensical twists, and side plots that go nowhere. Some of the characterization doesn't seem to match with the first movie. Most of the special effects are good, and Jude Law is a great Dumbledore.

The film was charming and visually stunning. A lot of fan service for harry potter fans. But by the end the movie felt like the plot didn't matter and we were just giving exposition for future movies.

The cgi effects were wonderfully depicted blending the wizard world with reality. The story line was a bit confusing though. Newt (Eddie Redmayne) was great.

Johnny Depp is absolutely mesmerizing as is Eddie Redmayne but the overall plot is chaotic and difficult to follow at times. Without knowledge of the previous installment and the Potter universe in general, it would be close to impossible to appreciate this movie. Well made, finely edited but overloaded.
