I was impressed with the depth of the story. Edee's pain was honestly and solidly portrayed as was that of Miguel. The mountain setting was almost another character in the story. In the beginning, i wasn't sure if Edee wanted to survive. Her skills and preparation were weak. But when she accepted Miguel's help and npn-judgemental companionship, she was beginning the healing process. He was the angel she needed. The mountain was magnificent, but also threatening, almost daring her to confront the challenge. I felt it was a story of hope and deliverence.

A very moving story about surviving grief and gaining redemption set against the backdrop of mother nature's rugged mountains.

Miguel redeems himself by helping Eddie heal from her loss and love life again. Sad and uplifting at the same time.

\rLife's fate has it's own rhyme and reason. Grief has it's own process for everyone in each situation. This encompasses both with the backdrop of the natural passing of time and life/death process, ying/yang of sorts. I would have appreciated seeing more of the animals and birds up closer, not just hearing coyotes or wolves and birds. I suspect this is not a big crowd pleaser since it moves slow, teases w/the loss of the loved ones and introduces a hero, but no love or sexual tension or action occurs. I'm glad the final scene gives clear sign of her making the connection back to her family.\r
