Great self awareness movie. I wish it would have at least gave me a little indication of what he did next at the end...did he go back to the deaf community? Subtitles during the all sign language scenes would have been nice, but it did help me feel his level of discomfort. Overall, a great movie.

I thought the acting was fantastic. I enjoyed the story line also.

Really beautiful movie. Felt like it was a little heavy handed at moments (exiling Ruben from group home; quick decision to leave Lou at end, etc). Loved the sound design and thought the acting was quite wonderful. Would recommend.

Nicely realized story and presented in a fair and gracious manner. There was no Hollywood grandstanding such as our hero's journey resulting in falling in love with the deaf teacher. Instead, we have a beautiful wake up moment which occurs in the most honest culmination. Certainly the Academy awards are not the pinnacle definition of a great movie, but this movie has success in droves! I would highly recommend this.
