Despite being set in the past, it is a feel great film for the every-woman-and-man of today. Mrs. Harris so aptly embodies our many aspirations and hopes in her modest and unassuming being. She does so with fortitude, good cheer, and grace. Despite her challenges and trials, the universe manifests some justice and, in doing so, inspires our own hopes. Who wouldn't love Mrs. Harris?

This was an excellent throwback sort of film with many universal themes at work.\r\rMrs Harris, the war widow, against all odds, pursues an unlikely dream. She has a Julie Andrews-esque quality about her that makes you love her right away and pull for her to win out in the end.\r\rThe cleaning woman with a heart of gold finds herself in the center of an environment of wealthy snobs only to becomes the catalyst of change and an inspiration to everyone around her.\r\rAnd the woman who travels all the way to Paris to find that everything that she needs to be truly happy is right in her own backyard.\r\r
