Overall excellent and very true to the book, an excellent feat of world-building! Great performances, soundtrack killed, can't wait for part 2!

Wonderful

I have been waiting for this movie for god knows how long, and I am not disappointed whatsoever. This is the Dune we wanted and we finally have it. Denis has done it again, the cast is phenomenal, and the score is so so so so good. I can’t even formulate coherent and pretty sounding sentences right now because I am simply riding the Dune high. Great job with the worm. Please do part 2. Please.

As a book reader I think the movie did a very good job adapting the first half or so of the book. There were some worldbuilding details missed i.e the larger politics around the emperor and why the harkonnens left Arrakis only to come back - things that I thought a non-book reader may be confused by. But these were small details and the film felt like an appropriate length in covering key parts.
