The movie themes and acting was very good. I enjoyed the storyline. There was times where it was a bit corny and cheesy but the overall storyline saves it.

A lovely true story that may have been too fairy tale-ized for my taste. The protagonist smiles way too much, but that might be his personality. Feels like a film that could not find its ultimate calling (drama, denunciation of Thatcher’s government, terrible racism, musical, comedy...). Some really lovely scenes but in general feels like it touched too many issues and didn’t go deep on any.

It was enjoyable, but I don't foresee this appealing to greater audiences because although it does have some unique nuances, music and lyrics of Bruce Springsteen almost as its own character and being told from a Pakistani Muslim family perspective (which were both enjoyable), I don't think the story either goes deep enough or is truly ground breaking enough to set itself apart from the crowd.

It is an original take on the latest homage to a music legend. May be hard for a younger US audience to relate to the music, time, country. The use of floating words brings the audience in. The ending did bring everything home.
