It didn't always take itself seriously and many times went over the top with the fight scenes. But overall it was a fun film and I think fans of the previous movie will enjoy this one

Shaft had great pacing and more good humor than I anticipated. The casting was well done except for the villains that came off as generic. The plot was a little too tv'ish in it's scripting & presentation, but I would still recommend the flick since it currently maintains it's own lane as an action comedy, devoid of sci-fi.

Yes, I would recommend to those that liked the previous "Shaft" movies. I definitely has that "old school" feel to it.

Yes, would recommend this film with a bit of reservation - would NOT recommend this to my Holy Roller Christian friends or those with Very High Moral Esteem nor to Women Against Violence. I wish the film had fewer cuss words and reduced gun violent. However, that said, I would describe the film as "Shaft old school meets Shaft millenial." The jokes were great! Movie will make money!
