Funny movie - wish the girl hadn't died though

The movie is a bit slow to start but picks up as it progresses. It's a story about caring and bonds between friends, It is funny, sad and poignant.

This is a great movie. It had humor and yet told a touching story about a boy finding himself through his friendship with the "dying girl" and with Earl--his honest, straight-forward friend. Being from Pittsburgh and being familiar with some of the scenery made it all the more enjoyable to watch.

I can certainly understand why ME AND EARL AND THE DYING GIRL won the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award at Sundance. This movie is beautifully acted and it shines in its portrayal of the angst that is such a part of high school. Thomas and Earl's friendship is one that draws you in and probably anyone would like to have a relationship like this with at least one friend. Watch it!
