This is a great film overall. The acting is amazing and it is so great to see deaf representation in film and more importantly for the child of deaf parents thrust into the role of interpreter from the onset of when they can speak. It was funny, poignant, and might even make you cry like many coming of age stories do.

This is a wonderful movie! Explored the depths of family dynamics, and having a family that is different, and being different yourself because of the family, but also different from the family. I cried and I laughed and I cheered on the parents when they finally realized that children must be free to be who the are. Definitely recommend this movie! I will be watching it again, at least once!

I absolutely loved it as during my years as an occupational therapist I saw many families where the able bodied children felt overlooked or at times ashamed by their special needs sibling or parents

Coming from a family with CODA in it (my nephew and his offspring), this delightful movie captures many of the nuances in the deaf community without the usual sugar coating. The acting is believable, the plot is realistic and the settings superb (I'm a long time Boston resident and there were many details that ring true). \r\rI really enjoyed this movie and its important reflection of a CODA family.
