It was an interesting storyline but it probably could be a little shorter. While the scenery shots were beautiful and added to the mood of the movie and character, at times it did feel a little long. \r\rI'm not sure I loved the ending, while it was probably more realistic than Ruben and Lou getting back together, the actual ending felt a bit unfinished.

It was an interesting journey and I like how he found stillness, but left open the question of whether he stays in Paris with Lou or finds happiness somewhere else, perhaps back at the deaf program. I found the portrayal of what Ruben was hearing an important part of the movie.

I thought it was a very good portrayal of a person who loses their hearing as an adult. I also liked the use of sound or absence of sound to help the audience feel the sensation of being deaf. The silence can be unnerving and scary.

Great film, story tracks well and keeps you engaged throughout especially with the performance of Riz Ahmed. Based on the trailer I was anticipating more developing between him and his teacher Diane but the choice to limit that tracks with how events progress to the end. Everting the viewing in the different sounds was a choice that had to be made with a film like this and I was glad they were done so uniquely. It’s rare for someone with their hearing to hear what it’s like with implants and even without sound entirely. I enjoyed the film great job!
