It was a great movie with a very intriguing story. I love the cinematography. It seemed like the director really tried to show emotion through the different shots that he took. The overall feel and atmosphere that the shots and the music score created were truly beautiful. I did have a few complaints about the movie. The biggest negative in my opinion was the love scene when Elliot and Tulsa were camping. I understand the thought of creating a scene that shows their love and commitment to each other but the way that it was portrayed bothered me. The scene heavily alluded to the two having sex (two teenagers lying naked together under the same sleeping bag...it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what they were doing). It made me uncomfortable to think of my kids watching this movie and thinking that the way that you show someone you love them is to sleep with them. That was the message that was portrayed. In the movie Elliot and Tulsa had known each other in person for a total of 2 days at that point. I feel that there were other options to show there love and commitment to each other. The only other thing that wasn't much of a complaint but more of an observation was just how much illegal things that Elliot and Tulsa did and they never got in trouble or caught or anything. It just seemed like in real life that wouldn't happen. But then again, in real life there aren't people living on Mars. hahaOverall though, the movie was fantastic. I especially thought the plot twist at the end with the reveal of Elliot's real father was unexpected and delightful. Thanks for letting me take part in the screening experience!

It was a well-crafted story that would appeal to teen viewers with interests in romance, science or both.It would be important for parents to know, going in, that there are mature aspects of a teen relationship depicted. Specifically, the sexual awakening of the main character. There were a few awkward moments in the narrative, but if properly marketed, this film can find a widely receptive audience.

Very good plot line, beautiful cinematography, thoroughly enjoyable movie. Seemed a bit rushed in the beginning, and some cheesy situations and sappy scenes made the acting seem forced. There are movies that make you forget that the actors are acting, but in this one the acting was always apparent to me.
