Wonderful performances but the plot was meandering and the dialogue was mostly hackneyed cliches

Film reminds me of Greta Gerwig's type of film, and she did a good job in the role of Abbie, Excellent job by Lucas Jade Zumba in the role of Jamie growing up with a single mom who is too much of an intellectual to be happy. I love previous work of Annette Benning, but felt she was not cast correctly here. Film is too slow, comments take over decades: slow and yet fast passing of ones lifetime.

The film is a great study of modern woman body politics and sensitive issues. Well acted as an ensemble chamber storytelling. Most male audience will be asleep a quarter's way into this movie.
