It was funny but could have had a better story line

I disliked this film for the same reasons I disliked the original film. Plenty of vulgarity but no punchlines. However, I disliked this sequel less, because Kathy Bates was a smart casting choice and the total lack of character development for the kid was a funny idea.

Was excited to see Bad Santa 2. Am a big fan of the first film - whenever I talk or think about it, I burst out in laughter. Bad Santa 2 does not strike the same chord. The leads are back, i.e., Billy Bob Thorton, Tony Cox, and the little boy - now a 21-year old man-child (not totally believable). Added to the cast is the wonderful Kathy Bates as the mother from hell; gorgeous Christina Hendricks as an unsatisfied wife, who goes slumming (really?). There are laughs to be had, but, in the end, disappointing. Going to watch the original, again.

The movie is undeserving of one star and it is the ncimpresible how actors of this caliber would lend their talent to be part of such a parody of bad taste and awful language in a Christmas related story. What were the producers of this thinking?
