Chemical Hearts is short and sweet. The pace was too quick, giving no build up, and lacked deeper character arch. I wanted to be more emotionally invested with Henry, Grace, and the newspaper crew. The film itself is shot beautifully, I felt the nostalgia of it right away. The actors themselves deliver a great performances given the strange, quick pace. \r\rOverall I liked this movie and was left wanting to read the book it was based on.

The movie stopped streaming about 2/3 of the way through and was unable to finish. What I saw was fine but cannot give a rating. My rating is related to the streaming issue, since you cannot submit without entering a rating.

I thought the idea of the movie was good, but I wasn’t a fan of the execution. The thought of teenage limbo was nice but I thought it would’ve been better had it focused more on different story lines. I also thought the movie felt slow and the soundtrack was not good.

The film had many weird and awkward points that didn’t quite flow. The dialogue felt unnatural and forced. I did like the idea about bringing awareness to certain issues, and I thought it brought out a refreshing perspective in that aspect.
