it didn't grab me right away but held back - both in dialog, story, and character - uncomfortably so at first.\rThat doesn't always work for me but for some reason this time it did. I was intrigued from the beginning - realizing that obviously our gals wasn't going to die out in the wild, but how was she going to learn to survive. Then along came Miguel and the movie got a little lighter, hope shown a little bit brighter, and I knew she was going to be live life on her terms, whatever they may be.

A beautiful introspective story of healing and finding the meaning of life. Amazing to see a film that did not have to exploit the typical fall in love/sex cures all script. Bravo Robin Wright, you rock. \rThere were parts of the dialog that I missed - it was difficult to make out Miguel before dying and what did Edee say after she said her family was killed?\r

Very emotional journey with transcendental undertones. Possibly lacking in setting the stage early on for the main character's psychological state. Overall an enjoyable and thought provoking story of struggle and personal perseverance both physical and mental.

Good movie. Felt bad she was living alone like that. Makes you realize and appreciate how much you need others in your life.
