It was a fun ride. Didn't get every reference, but laughter is infectious. Sound quality could be better.

Goofy and the story had some weaknesses (mainly calling out stereotypes but not really breaking them) but had some good humor. Enjoyable comedy that helps pave the road for future Comedies.

LIked the social commentary and had fun with the comedy, horror elements were weak, probably more appropriate for cable or streaming instead of theatrical release.

The Blackening is a welcome entry into the comedy-horror genere, balancing both perfectly. I laughed SO much more than I expected to! Each of the characters feels real and the jokes authentic, both working in tandem to deliver a memorable experience. My primary complaint is that the “twist” is obvious from the moment the Clifton is introduced. I think it could’ve been more subtly, cleverly done.
