Characters pretty predictable and stereotypical. Camera work at the last game was a little too spasmodic (yes, I understand it's supposed to convey energy, but I actually got a bit nauseous). Close-ups of eyes of the couple not effective. Energy dropped through floor at that point.

An interesting look into the dynamics of a Chinese family pursuing an "American" dream while confronting the challenges of life. Some of the dialog seemed a bit more self aware than I would normally associate with teenagers. I enjoyed the film.

It was difficult in the beginning to understand the dialogue and to connect w/the character Boogie due to his arrogance. However, the film began to turn around when he was in the English class and stated his honest opinion about Holden Caulfield and Boogie showed his vulnerable side. Overall, it was definitely worth the time invested.
