While I didn't think it was as good as the original, I never quite expect that of a sequel. In this case, T2 shines on its own with some comedy, nostalgia, flashbacks, and drama. In particular, I enjoyed some of the 21st century updates with an example being the "choose... " monologue. My favorite scene may have been the duet. I was conflicted about where things were going with Bagby, but that ended about as well as it could. Over all, I was pretty pleased and would be had I paid to see it.

Excellent directing and script. Excellent acting by the original crew. Excellent addition of Anjela Nedyalkova. With sequels you expect to be disappointed but this sequel does not disappoint. It lives up to the original film and celebrates the original Trainspotting with beauty, grace, respect. The second film is just as good as the first film. I did not expect to be almost moved to tears by some nostalgia, but it felt good, and right. The film is a brilliant piece of art. 5 stars all the way.
