Beginning half didn’t make much sense but the second half made it worth it

The strong performances by the leads made this watchable. The movie relied on style and sizzle, felt at times I was watching a perfume ad or music video. The story was predictable and unrealistic. I tried to remind myself the importance of football and NFL for the american audience, and imagined if this movie was instead themed around ice hockey, how much more I would be invested: a lot more

Marlon Wayans was good but the plot was choppy with no follow through and very little horror elements

HIM was a dark metaphor for the challenges, sacrifices, and lengths some take to be the best. The concept was there however it wasn't presented clearly in the film. It may have been helpful to have shown an alternate path to display the dilemma between success and integrity. It's worth a watch to think a little deeper about competitive sports.
