Spielberg's mix of broad strokes and believably human characters reaches its peak in analyzing his own childhood. Should win best picture, director, and actress for Michelle Williams. Loved the way it was an origin story for classic SS things like broken family units and even Indiana Jones without seeming obvious.

Time well spent!\rThis movie is a great combination of biographical facts and jokes.\rI didn't know much about Steven Spielberg's story and had no idea what to expect from The Fabelmans. It was a great way to get a first-hand overview of his creative journey!

I thought it was excellent. Very well written and excellent story

Realistically set in the 50's explores the traumas of growing up Jewish in the midst of antisemitism and a family that seems fine from the outside but is falling apart. Fortunately Sam has a passion for filming that helps him survive.
