Excellent acting. I would have liked to see the movie go on to Fischer's life after he became world champion.

Dragged just a bit in the middle, but very informative and enjoyable. Excellent performance by Mr. Maguire.

Intriguing look at life in the competitive chess world, a particular point in US/Soviet relations, the components of obsession, genius and mental breakdown. The one thing I detested was the blurry, grainy, hand-held jerky film techniques which account for about 15% of the film.

Excellent portal by Tobey McGuire of chess genius bordering on insanity (actually over the border into mental illness) Bobby Fischer. While slow-moving according to my companion I believe that to have "moved it along" at a faster pace would've been inappropriate in this particular film about a game - and its players - that does not necessarily move quickly.
