Great characters and beautiful costumes and scenes of buildings

The Current War is engaging, bringing a story from what some would consider the musty pages of a history book to life in a vivid, relatable manner.The iconic names of the protagonists find a human side and the stakes are very high; their impact on the world was revolutionary then and remains so today. This is a movie about ideas and the acting makes it work well. Cinematography is magnificent.

I can look past the awkward way it's shot and edited to focus on the engaging (dare I say electrifying?) performances and surprisingly balanced story. It also really evokes a sense of the period.It does make me wonder whether more or less on Tesla would have enhanced the film, which is very much centered on the feud between Edison and Westinghouse.

Great lesson in history. It wasn't a boring movie, but the topic just isn't very exciting. Overall, it was good.
