A good first effort from director/restaurateur Eddie Huang. Despite many rookie mistakes this film is eminently watchable. A moderate thumbs up.

Formulaic and rushed but kept me engaged more than I thought given the cultural context. Think movie short-changed itself by rushing through the simple storyline
