It felt so familiar to watch. It was very much like watching old black Hollywood. It was a quiet elegance that felt old world but also fresh somehow. I miss this kind of earnest romance without all the hi jinx. Downplaying the first marriage with Lacy made the movie easier to stick with the story. If there were more of him, he would have seemed cruel instead of typical for the period. The pacing was slower and quieter than I was expecting but it added to the longing and dreaminess of a romance. And of course every dress is Chanel.

Nice storyline - pursue your passion in life. I enjoyed the music played throughout the movie and watching the two main actors.

The soundtrack really stole the show! But it was a fun light romance with some great outfits!

Sylvie's Love is a remarkable film, full of great acting, the true mood of the era, wonderful music, and a lovely romance. Loved it! Bravo to the director and producers.
