Escape Room had the exact plot as a movie called The Cube, made in 1997. The most notable similarity was the remaining two people people in both moves for the portion of the game were the same archetypes, angry black man (this is so DATED) and quirky white guy that you wouldn't expect to have survived, and the white guy somehow beats the way stronger black guy. I liked the rooms, but there was no character development. there were 15 second flashbacks that tried to be relevant but fell flat.

Too similar to saw

Predictable, unoriginal plot. Some good suspenseful scenes, but as a whole, it was not enough to save the combination of poor acting and uninspired writing.

While it was somewhat entertaining to watch people in complete chaos. I wasn’t impressed by the concept of the whole movie. I’ll admit I’m a fan of Sony and a lot of the movies they make this one wasn’t one of them
